We Are Moving to LPL Financial

In December, LPL Holdings, Inc. (LPL Holdings) and Macquarie Management Holdings, Inc. announced an agreement whereby LPL would acquire the wealth management business of Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc. While this change is expected to be seamless for you, we want you to be aware of some of the details.

We are an independent practice affiliated with Waddell & Reed Inc., but as you know, your relationship is primarily with us. After the close of the transaction and subsequent transition of our practice to LPL Financial LLC (LPL) this summer, we will become an independent practice affiliated with LPL. We want to keep you informed, but rest assured, this does not change our relationship. During and after the transition to LPL, we will continue to serve you, and you will have full access to your accounts.

LPL is the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer and recognized for its superior tools, technologies and services. In 2020, LPL was ranked the #1 independent broker-dealer1 for the 25th consecutive year. The firm invests heavily to improve technology and provides extraordinary service. This should enable us to spend more time helping you pursue your financial goals and elevate your overall experience.

What happens next?
As we get closer to the transition to LPL, here are a few things you can be looking for:

1. You will receive a large mailing packet – up to 100 pages -- for each of your Waddell & Reed accounts. We understand that the sheer bulk of this regulatory-driven mailing may feel overwhelming, and we regret that it could not be delivered electronically. The packet will include information about your accounts converting to LPL and will outline equivalent investment products offered through LPL as compared to your current holdings.

The mailing is scheduled to arrive by approximately May 21. You do not need to take any action if you plan to continue working with us.

2. You may receive a reminder mailing in mid-June about the change of ownership of your accounts to LPL.

3. As other key dates approach, and if there’s anything we need from you—such as additional information that LPL may need to ensure your client records are up to date—we will let you know.

Thank you for entrusting us with your financial future. We will keep you up to date during the transition to LPL and, of course, if you have questions in the meantime, please contact us.
